Automatic travel-day tracking

Never miscount a travel day again.

Staydays logs which country you are in each day and warns you before you hit a visa or tax limit. The Schengen 90/180 rule and 183-day residency rules are counted for you, automatically.

90/180

Overstays carry real penalties

Cross the Schengen limit and you can face fines, deportation, and multi-year entry bans. One miscounted week is enough.

02
183 days

Tax residency by accident

Stay past a country's threshold and it can claim you as a tax resident, often with income tax owed on everything you earn.

03
1 trip

Spreadsheets fail quietly

Manual logs depend on memory. Forget one weekend trip and every count after it is wrong.

How it works

Set it once. It counts every day for you.

1

Install and allow location

Staydays uses low-power, coarse location to note which country you are in. No check-ins and no manual entry.

2

Every day is logged

Cross a border and the day log updates on its own. Each rule reads from the same record: Schengen, 183-day, or US state.

3

You get warned in time

Set your own alert thresholds. Staydays notifies you before a limit, with the date you need to leave by.

Everything in one app

Built for people who cross borders for a living.

Automatic day tracking

Detects the country you are in each day using background location. No trip logging and no check-ins to remember.

Schengen 90/180 engine

A true rolling-window count, not a naive counter. It always knows your remaining days and your safe-until date.

183-day and US state rules

Tracks tax-residency thresholds per country, plus day-count rules for US states. Every rule runs on the same day log.

Home-screen widget

Day counts and progress bars on your Home Screen. The numbers stay current without opening the app.

Threshold alerts

Set a warning at any count you choose: 75 of 90 Schengen days, or 30 days before a residency threshold.

Exportable reports

Export a clean, dated record of your presence by country, ready for your accountant or an immigration officer.

Privacy by design

Your location history never leaves your devices.

Every count is computed on your iPhone and synced only through your private iCloud. There are no Staydays servers, no accounts, and no third-party analytics on your movements. We could not read your location history if we wanted to.

FAQ

Questions, answered.

Still unsure? Read the guides or try the free calculator before you download.

Is Staydays free?

Staydays is free to download and the core day counter works without payment. Some advanced features are part of a paid upgrade inside the app. There is no account and no sign-up either way.

How does Staydays count my travel days?

It uses low-power background location to detect which country you are in each day, then applies the relevant rule to that day log. For Schengen it recalculates the rolling 180-day window every day, and for residency rules it counts presence days the way each jurisdiction does.

Does my location data leave my device?

No. Day counts are computed on your iPhone and synced only through your private iCloud. Staydays has no servers and no accounts, so nobody else can see where you have been.

Which rules can Staydays track?

The Schengen 90/180 short-stay rule, 183-day tax-residency rules, and day-count rules for US states. Every rule reads from the same automatic day log, so one trip updates all of your counts at once.

Do I need to open the app for it to keep counting?

No. Staydays counts in the background using low-power location, so the app can stay closed for weeks and the totals stay current. The home-screen widget shows the latest numbers without opening the app.
